Mongolia on Monday enjoyed a nationwide snowfall as the country is grappling with a continuous steppe drought and rising wildfire prevention pressure.
The Institute of Hydrology and Meteorology of Mongolia forecast that from Tuesday to Friday, the eastern, southern and central parts of Mongolia would experience precipitation process, which could help revive its pastureland.
The agency said the precipitation process would also ease Mongolia's pressure over wildfire prevention.
A spell of dry weather accompanied by strong wind and sandstorms have plagued the country for a long time since this spring.
The National Emergency Management Authority recently warned that due to the severe wildfire prevention situation caused by the recent windy and dry weather, local authorities must be on high alert.
