Dry, hot weather triggered several forest fires on Tuesday in northeast China's Heilongjiang province, according to local forestry authorities.
Several fire sites were recorded on Greater Hinggan Mountains, Xunke county in Heihe city as well as Yichun city, said the forest fire prevention headquarters in Heilongjiang.
Rising temperatures and windy weather have created high risks and the frequent occurrence of forest fires, explained the headquarters.
As of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, a total of 4,040 people have been sent to tame a forest fire which has ripped through Tayuan forest on the Greater Hinggan Mountains.
In Yichun's Wuying forest, 3,000 rescuers and one helicopter have been dispatched to extinguish a fire.
More rescuers have also rushed to put out forest fires at other sites.
