Floodwater Enters East China's Shandong Province

The vast water current in the Yellow River entered east China's Shandong Province Friday afternoon, reaching the entrance to the Bohai Sea.

By 4 p.m. Friday, the water level peaked at 63.65 meters, 15 centimeters higher than the warning level, and the water flow hit 2,670 cubic meters per second. About 26 leakages were recorded on the embankment, but all were repaired, said officials with the local flood and draught control office.

Excessive rains in previous days contributed to the dramatic increase in the water flow.

Meanwhile, the water level of the Yellow River in central China's Henan Province started to fall.
