Chinese top political advisor Jia Qinglin met in Beijing on Wednesday with Tran Van Hang, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, pledging to push for bilateral ties.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top advisory body, said China and Vietnam have enjoyed a sound growth of bilateral relations in recent years, with frequent high-level visits and fruitful cooperation in various fields.

The CPC and the CPV also witnessed remarkable achievements in pragmatic cooperation, Jia noted.

China values its relations with Vietnam, and views the relations from a strategic viewpoint, Jia said, adding that China would work with Vietnam to advance good-neighborly friendship and all-round cooperation.

Jia applauded Vietnam's support of China in the Tibet and Taiwan issues.

Tran Van Hang, also head of the commission for external affairs of the CPV Central Committee, said Vietnam was satisfied with the development of bilateral relations with China, and would work with China to achieve mutual benefits and common development in socialist construction.

Tran Van Hang reiterated Vietnam's support of China on the Tibet and Taiwan issues. He said the Beijing Olympics are a grand event for all people in the world, and wished success for the Beijing Olympic Games.

Tran Van Hang and his delegation were here at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
