Both Chinese and Angolan governments would like to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, Chinese Ambassador Zhang Bolun said?in Luanda?on Tuesday.
During a meeting with Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos in the Presidential Palace, the Chinese senior diplomat told reporters that they had "discussed issues concerning bilateral cooperation on how to best execute current projects between the two countries and work together to face the world financial crisis."
The current world financial crisis is affecting both China and Angola, Zhang said, adding that China and Angola, the two developing countries, must work together to face the difficult financial situation.
"We are fully confident about overcoming the difficulties caused by the world financial crisis because the economies of our two countries are greatly complementary," he said.
China has a considerable strong financial capacity and rich experience in infrastructural construction, the Chinese ambassador said.
He also promised that the Chinese government will use all its potentials to financially assist Angola in its national economic recovery and the national reconstruction program aimed at reconstructing all infrastructures destroyed during the 27-year civil war such as railways, roads, residential houses, hospitals and clinics, schools, farm production and irrigations systems, among others.
According to Zhang, the existing China-financed projects under construction in Angola will be properly implemented and will not be affected by the current world crisis.
