Coalition MPs have attacked "At Home with Julia," a TV satire on Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, as demeaning and suggested that the funding for Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) should be reviewed, The Australian reported.
Nationals MP John Forrest told colleagues in a party room meeting that the satirical take on Gillard's private life demeaned the office of prime minister, after learning Wednesday's episode features on-air prime minister Amanda Bishop and actor Phil Lloyd, playing Tim Mathieson, naked on her office floor under an Australian flag.
"Having sex in the prime minister's office under the Australian flag is the last straw for me," Forrest said.
Liberal MP Teresa Gambaro also expressed disgust with the comedy, suggesting that the national broadcaster's funding should be reviewed.
But Liberal MP Bronwyn Bishop said if people didn't like the show they could change channels.(點擊《澳大利亞人報》查看原文)
