Two Chinese graduate students from the University of Southern California were shot around 1:00 am yesterday while sitting in a double-parked BMW in an area southwest of downtown Los Angeles, said the LA Police Department, AFP reported.

The electrical engineering students, in their early 20s, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The woman was found slumped in the passenger seat, while the man was on the steps of a nearby house.

USC officials later identified the female victim as Ying Wu, and the man as Ming Qu. The motive for the shootings was unclear, but it may have been a bungled carjacking, he said. One attacker was seen leaving the scene.

法新社報(bào)道，洛杉磯警方稱，昨日凌晨1點(diǎn)左右，兩名來自美國洛杉磯南加州大學(xué)的中國留學(xué)生在洛杉磯南郊的鬧市區(qū)被槍殺，當(dāng)時(shí)他們在一輛違章停放的寶馬車內(nèi)。

兩名死者20出頭，是電機(jī)工程系的學(xué)生，他們身上有多處彈孔。女子坐在乘客座椅上中彈身亡，男子則在附近一家民宅的臺(tái)階上死亡。

南加州大學(xué)校方稍后出來確認(rèn)稱，女死者名叫吳穎，男生叫瞿明。目前，警方尚未查出槍擊案的動(dòng)機(jī)，不過這可能是一樁很拙劣的車輛搶劫案。據(jù)悉，一名槍手已經(jīng)逃脫。
