Rupert Murdoch has given up resistance to splitting his US$50bn media empire and now considers spinning off News Corp's tarnished UK newspapers and other publishing assets from its Fox, Sky and Star entertainment brands, the Financial Times reported.
The reorganization will leave television and film channels, including the Fox News Channel, 20th century Fox film studio, the Fox broadcasting network and investments in the Sky and Star pay-TV operations, unburdened by less lucrative publishing brands.
