An ivory carving vase is seen in an ivory carving show in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province, April 20, 2011. The show, to be closed on May 4, showcases more than 100 ivory carvings made in China from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to the 1970s. Ivory carving is the carving of animal tooth or tusk. The ancient craft has now virtually ceased, as it is illegal under most circumstances throughout the world since the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in 1975.
