In celebration of its anniversary, Beijing's WF Central retail center recently unveiled two sets of kinetic art installations, American artist Patrick Shearn's Sun Cycle and Amsterdam-based design company Studio Drift's Meadow.
The installations are exhibited in the Chinese mainland for the first time, and as a part of the Rhythm of Nature exhibition, the artworks will be on display at WF Central from May 29 to August 31.
Sun Cycle is a large-scale installation created by Patrick Shearn and his company Poetic Kinetics based in Los Angeles especially for the retail center. The installation, spanning 511 square meters and comprising over 33,200 streamers, floats above the lawn outside the mall and transforms its shape with wind.
