At least nine people have died after a boat capsized 10 miles off Florida's east coast. The vessel, carrying 28 people believed to be Haitan immigrants, overturned at 2am on Wednesday (may 13). A major search and rescue mission was launched and a number of survivors have been plucked from the ocean. The passengers are believed to have been in the water for over 10 hours before the first rescue was made, at 12.40pm the following day.[CFP]
