Brazil has replaced European champion Spain to reach the top of FIFA's world rankings released Wednesday.
Brazil was second in the previous month's rankings and managed to overtake Spain with a total of 1,611 points.
Spain sits second with 1,565 points, while World Cup semifinalists Portugal went up a spot to take the third place, exchanging places with the Netherlands.
Reigning world champion Italy stays fifth ahead of Germany. Argentina rose two places to move to seventh place, while England fell one spot to eighth.
Croatia ranked ninth after moving up one place and France dropped two spots to 10th.
