World champion and Olympic bronze medalist Roniel Iglesias will represent Cuba in the Pan American boxing tournament to begin on Tuesday in Quito, Ecuador, said local media on Saturday.
The National Boxing Commission reported that Iglesias (64kg) will be accompanied by Olympic runners-up Emilio Correa (75kg) and Carlos Banteur (69kg).
The Cuban cast also includes World Cup winner Robert Alfonso (+91kg) and national champions Yorman Rodriguez (51kg), Yasniel Toledo (60kg) and Julio Cesar La Cruz (81kg).
According to the Federation, 15 countries and regions will participate in the Pan American Boxing Tournament. Cuba dominated the last edition in Mexico 2009 by winning seven medals.
