After a successful scrimmage during the Corinthians team practice on Friday, Ronaldo was approved to play in Sunday's match against Vitoria.
The news caused the team's fans to quickly purchase tickets for the home game.
The striker was sidelined with a calf injury since May. Taking more than three months to recuperate, the athlete also gained additional weight, causing widespread criticism. The athlete came to the point of contemplating an early retirement.
However, the world renown athlete performed well in Friday's scrimmage, leading to the head coach, Adilson Batista, to place the athlete among the players available for Sunday's 17th round match in the 2010 Brazilian Championship.
Coach Batista promised that Ronaldo will play at least 45 minutes in Sunday's match.
