FC Barcelona and Argentina forward Leo Messi said he is looking forward to the chance to face World Champions Spain Tuesday.
Spain plays Argentina in Buenos Aires in a friendly game, but Messi is anticipating a game with both teams giving everything they have.
"It is a great game to be able to play in," he said in an interview with Spanish sports paper Marca this Monday.
"I am sure it will be an open match, Spain plays possession football and that will allow us to play as well. We will have to get the ball of them, it is not going to be easy, but when we have the ball then you will see that both sides have similar ideas of playing the game."
While Spain will have David Villa and Fernando Torres in attack, Argentina can count on Messi, considered to be the best player in the World, as well as Carlos Tevez, Gonzalo Higuain and Kun Aguero.
"Argentina has got great players and that I why I think we can win an open game. But I repeat that it is very important for us to have the ball," added Messi.
The Spain squad also features eight players from Messi' s club, FC Barcelona, while Argentina will be captained by recent Barcelona signing, Javier Mascherano. Messi gave his vote of confidence to the new arrival at the Camp Nou stadium.
"Javier is a great person and I get on really well with him. We all know what he can do on a football pitch. He is a great signing for us and we will all do what we can to make him feel comfortable in the squad," he said.
Finally Messi talked about his club side, which this season is aiming to win its third BBVA Primera Liga title in Spain.
"We want to carry on winning titles, the Primera Liga is very competitive and I think it is going to be a very attractive season," he concluded.
