Arsenal sealed a 6-0 victory at home against SC Braga from Portugal in their first match in Group H at the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Led by captain Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal dominated the pitch since the first minute and gave the visitors few chances to launch attack.
Marouane Chamakh earned a penalty for the hosts after eight minutes as the French striker was fouled by Braga goalkeeper Felipe. Fabregas sent the spotkick into net, opening the Gunners' slaughter at Emirates.
On the half hour mark, Russian Andrey Arshavin slotted in Fabregas' cross in close range before teenager Jack Wilshere assisted Chamakh added a second.
After the halftime, the visitors suffered more as the Gunners kept sharp in attack. Fabregas headed home Arshavin's pinpoint cross from the left in the 53rd minute and manager Wenger was assured to send youngsters Neves Denilson and Carlos Vela.
Vela, 21, clipped in Arshavin's fine pass in the 67th minute. Then the talented Mexican striker completed the scoring by slotting in Fabregas' pass with six minutes remaining.
