The formidable presence of US Open Champion Graeme McDowell, the man who won the Ryder Cup for Europe, will grace the UBS Hong Kong Open from Nov 18-21.
The Northern Irishman continued his sensational season at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales by winning the vital point that ensured Europe regained the Ryder Cup following a pulsating battle with the US.
Now he is en route to Fanling to join his Ryder Cup partner, Rory McIlroy, at the 2010 Hong Kong Open as he seeks to set-up a photo finish with Martin Kaymer in the European Tour's Race to Dubai. The Open is jointly sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.
"I'm really looking forward to playing in the UBS Hong Kong Open," said McDowell. "After the emotion of the Ryder Cup, it will be great to get back to business and win vital points in the penultimate event on The Race to Dubai.
"I have enjoyed the best season of my career this year. The US Open win and then what happened in the Ryder Cup have been the two greatest moments in my professional life, and winning the Hong Kong Open would be the icing on the cake."
