Ciprian Marica sealed the third victory at European League for Stuttgart while Bundesliga leader Dortmund was held to a 1-1 draw against Paris St. Germain on Thursday.
Stuttgart worked out a hard earned victory against Getafe thanks to the decider by striker Ciprian Marica at the 29th minute. Marica seized the opportunity to score the winner with a follow up shot from close distance thanks to the perfect pass by striker mate Cacau.
However both teams had a bunch of scoring opportunities but both sides remained short on accuracy within the end of the match.
Stuttgart sits now on top of group H with nine points, Young Boys Bern occupies second position with six points, followed by Getafe with three points and Odense with zero points.
Paris St. Germain punished Bundesliga leader Dortmund after they score the late equalizer minutes before final whistle. Both teams staged an unspectacular first half in contrary to the second half were Dortmund earned a penalty at the 50th minute. Midfielder youngster Nuri Sahin had no problems to convert the penalty confident to open the scoring.
As from now on Dortmund retracted inexplicably and was punished three minutes before final whistle. Paris midfielder Clement Chantome exploited a pass inside penalty area to score late equalizer.
Dortmund sits now on third position of group J with only three points while Paris St. Germain occupies top position with seven points.
