The Honduran Police began on Monday the operations to guarantee soccer fans' security while they watch the World Cup at public places, Security Minister Oscar Alvarez said.
"We cannot let the security be reduced. We are going to carry out special operations to guarantee the security of the Honduran people," Alvarez said.
Honduras will play against Chile in their first Group H match at 5:30 a.m. local time (1130 GMT) on Wednesday, and many hotels, public squares and bars will not close their doors so the soccer fans can watch the match.
In Tegucigalpa there is a mega screen set in the National Gym of Engineers, and the movie theaters will also present the match with the technology of three dimension.
Alvarez said "we are going to carry out operations during the matches, when people will be at bars and other public places."
