Although the stakes were low, Ronaldo Tuesday won a friendly bet over fellow Corinthians teammate Roberto Carlos after Spain edged Portugal 1-0 at the World Cup.
Ronaldo made a profit of 50 U.S. dollars from betting on the round of 16 match between the two European teams.
Via his Twitter account, Ronaldo claimed that he knew that Spain was a better team and took the opportunity to rejoice in his winning-bet.
Ronaldo, the World Cup's record-holding goal scorer with 15 goals, remains a contracted commentator on Twitter during the 2010 World Cup. This year's World Cup was his first missed tournament since the 1994 World Cup in the United States as a 17-year-old.
Ronaldo, 33, is close to his retirement alongside his teammate and former member of the Brazilian national soccer team Roberto Carlos.
