China's table tennis players Li Xiaoxia and Guo Yue moved closer to the 2011 World Championships after winning group matches in the trials on Wednesday.
Li defeated Wu Yang 4-2, Mu Zi 4-0 and Cao Zhen 4-2, while Guo beat Wen Jia 4-1, Rao Jingwen 4-3 and Yao Yan 4-1.
According to the Chinese team's rules, any player who gets one title in seven tournaments (including five open tournament and two trials) qualifies for the 2011 World Championships.
Since Li and Guo had not been crowned in the former events, they will have to win this trial to ensure qualification.
