Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid confirmed on Tuesday that they will play two friendly matches in China this summer.
Chinese fans of the club, which contains players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema, will be able to see them play Chinese side Guangzhou in the Tianhe Stadium on August 3.
Three days later Madrid will travel to Tianjin to take on Tianjin Teda, who were runners-up in the Chinese soccer league last season.
This will be the second time that Real Madrid have travelled to China, the club was last there in 2005, when players such as David Beckham, Luis Figo and Ronaldo all formed part of the squad.
"This is more than a typical pre-season tour for us. We have over 100 million supporters in China and it is a good chance for us to meet them and show them our thanks for supporting the team," said Real Madrid Director of Institutional Relations and former player, Emilio Butragueno.
"We want to show them the best side of Real Madrid and we can assure our fans that it will be a great sporting spectacle. But also as the best recognized trademark in football, we want to be able to explore how to build and develop the sport in China," added Butragueno.
