Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang left on Sunday for the IAAF Eugene Diamond League to be held on June 4.
It will be the Chinese super star's second outdoor race this season, following his win in the Shanghai Diamond League two weeks ago.
The former Olympic and world champion snapped U.S. star David Oliver's 18-race unbeaten run in Shanghai in 13.07 seconds, the world-leading time of the season.
Liu, who formerly held the world record of 12.88 seconds, said that he expects to run inside 13.20 seconds.
"I hope to run around 13.10 seconds but it will be surely inside 13.20," he said.
The Eugene event is the fourth leg of the season's 14-stage IAAF Diamond League.
Liu, who flies with coach Sun Haiping and teammate Shi Dongpeng, said that he will be training in the United States after the Eugene race until mid-June.
