German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg agreed with Juventus Turin midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic on a one-year contract, the club announced on Monday.
The 34-year-old Bosnia Herzegovina international Salihamidzic scored in 61 appearances seven goals for his last club Turin. "Brazzo" returns into Bundesliga after he already played nine years for record champion Bayern Munich. He will wear number 11 on his futures team jersey at Wolfsburg.
"Hasan is a player who has played in his career in various positions at the highest level. So it is a transfer that makes us flexible the upcoming season. I' m sure he does well with his maturity and experience of our team" , Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath said after the signing.
Salihamidzic looks forward to the new challenge at Wolfsburg: "For me it was clear that after Bayern and Juventus Turin not many clubs came into question. Felix Magath has given me already the chance to play football and therefore I was immediately certain" .
Hassan Salihamidzic played from 1998 to 2007 for Bayern Munich to win the German championship six times, German Cup four times. He also won under Felix Magath in 2005 and 2006 the German double. In addition he was Champions League and Intercontinental Cup winner in 2001.
