At least 140 people were injured late Tuesday in clashes between police and football fans following an Egypt Cup match in the Cairo Stadium between Al-Ahly and Kima Aswan.
At least 72 policemen were injured, 54 of the injured had been transferred to the nearby hospital. 11 fans were arrested, official news agency MENA said.
The clashes inflamed in the second half of the match as the mass chanted against former president Hosni Mubarak, former Interior Minister el-Adli and throw bottles and chairs toward the policemen in the stadium.
The clashes spread to a nearby street after the match where 14 police cars and two motorbikes were destroyed by the fans.
