Changchun on Friday named its 95-athlete delegation for the 12th Chinese National Winter Games to be held from January 1-13.
The 12th Games to be held in Jilin Province next year will be the largest in history, with almost 1,400 athletes joining in this feast to vie for the 115 gold medals from five sports, including skating, skiing biathlon, hockey and curling.
"I think I will try my best to perform well and get excellent results," said leading athlete Liang Wenhao.
According to Zhao Xiaolu, vice director of Jilin Provincical Sports Bureau, the Changchun delegation enjoys advantages in short track speed skating and freestyle skiing, "because from these two programs, we have sent many excellent players to the national team."
Zhao said that the Changchun delegation will implement strict discipline and anti-doping measures in order to exhibit a more civilized sports atmosphere.
Compared to the last, nine more delegations have been added and 23 more gold medals have been offered at the 12th Games, which will be held in Jilin Province from January 1-13.
Ice programs will be held in Changchun City, and snow programs will be in Jilin City.
