World volleyball governing body, FIVB, announced Tuesday the details of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL), including host cities, pools, schedules and ticketing.
The women's competition will take place from June 4-8, 2025 in three cities - Ottawa of Canada, Rio de Janeiro of Brazil, and the Chinese capital Beijing, while the first week's men's competition will be held from June 11-15, in Quebec City of Canada, Rio de Janeiro, and Xi'an of China.
The women's preliminary is held on July 9-13 in Apeldoorn of the Netherlands, Arlington of the United States and Kanto of Japan, while the men's teams will compete in their final preliminary matches from July 15-20 in Gdansk of Poland, Ljubljana of Slovenia, and Kanto.
The 2025 VNL expands the participating teams from 16 to 18 per gender, as China and Ukraine are added into the men's list, while the Czech Republic and Belgium are into the women's bracket.
That means a total of 108 matches will be played per gender in the preliminary stage in three weeks, and each team will play 12 matches.
The Finals will take place from July 23-27 for the women's competition and July 30-August 3 for the men's.
