The Zhejiang Lions extended their home winning streak to 10 games with a 115-88 victory over the Fujian Sturgeons to sit top of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league with a 15-2 record after the 17th round of matches on Saturday.
It was also Zhejiang's seventh straight victory. Leading by 30-26 after the first quarter, Zhejiang started to pull away from the second period for a 19-point advantage at halftime and never looked back in the second half.
Zhejiang displayed a balanced attack, with six players cracking double figures in scoring, among whom Barry Brown, Nathan Knight and Hu Jinqiu all scored at least 20 points. Brown also dished out 10 assists.
"Our team chemistry is getting better and better, and everyone is willing to share the ball on the court. Today's 29 assists show our players' trust in their teammates. Hopefully it will keep going," said Zhejiang head coach Wang Bo.
The Xinjiang Flying Tigers also put on a balanced performance in offense in a commanding 122-89 victory over the Jilin Northeast Tigers, with six players finishing in double figures. Xinjiang forward Dedric Lawson shot nine of 12 from the field to pocket a game-high 24 points, and Quentin Peterson added 18.
Xinjiang ran wild after the tip-off, outscoring Jilin 40-19 after the first quarter. Despite Jilin's comeback effort from there, pulling within 13 points at the break, Xinjiang put the result beyond any doubt with a 36-18 third quarter.
Brandon Goodwin notched 34 points as the Shanxi Loongs prevailed 110-108 over the Beijing Ducks for their second win between the two teams in five days, while Beijing suffered a three-game skid.
Other high-ranked sides in the league also won this round, with the defending champion Liaoning Flying Leopards edging the Sichuan Blue Whales 86-77, and the Shandong Heroes outlasting the Shenzhen Leopards 107-98.
Elsewhere, the Beijing Royal Fighters eased past the Ningbo Rockets 117-96, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls overpowered the Tianjin Pioneers 112-103, the Guangdong Southern Tigers lost to the Shanghai Sharks 124-91, the Jiangsu Dragons fell 117-98 to the Nanjing Monkey Kings, and the Qingdao Eagles won 113-103 over the Guangzhou Loong Lions.
