River Plate is preparing a bid to sign Argentina international defender Nicolas Tagliafico from Lyon, according to media reports in the South American country.
Tagliafico is contracted to the French club until June 2025 and the 32-year-old is understood to be open to a return to his homeland, TyC Sports reported on Thursday.
It added that Tagliafico's national team colleagues German Pezzella, Marcos Acuna and Franco Armani, all current members of River Plate's squad, have spoken with the left-back in an effort to woo him.
Tagliafico has made 82 appearances across all competitions for Lyon since he arrived from Ajax in July 2022.
He has been capped 67 times for Argentina and was a part of the Albiceleste squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
