Poland's Pawel Korzeniowski touched the wall first with the
fastest time of one minute and 56.06 seconds in men's 200 meters
butterfly at the China Open in Beijing on Tuesday.
Korzeniowski, who swam in lane three, secured a lead from the
first lap and managed to hold off Moss Burmester of New Zealand and
Japan's Ryusuke Sakata, who finished in 1:57.79 and 1:58.13.
The Poland butterfly specialist's best time of 1:54.93 last year
at the International Swim Meet in Japan placed him second at the
FINA rankings, only behind American swimming sensation Michael
Phelps.
