Situated in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin is a scenic city and one of the most celebrated tourist destinations in China. Guilin is well known for its unique picturesque landscapes, wealth of natural resources, variety of cultural heritage, and beautiful ecological environment. There are many scenic points throughout the city, including the Longji Terraces, Lijiang River, Yangshuo ancient town, Xiangbi Mountain and Duxiu Peak, which are not only good for sightseeing, but also suitable for hiking, jogging and cycling. Also, Guilin is home to a dozen of different ethnic minorities, so visitors can also experience the special local customs during their stay. In April, as Guilin approaches its rainy season, it is high time to view the breathtaking vistas offered by the city's mist-covered mountains, rivers, and caves.
