The real estate developer, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, began operations in Guangzhou in 1996. It employs more than 18,000 people and has residential projects in 60 cities around China. The company has moved into commercial real estate by acquiring Kasia Plaza and into hospitality with the opening of the Chongqing Evergrande Hotel.Xu Jiayin, president of Evergrande Real Estate Group, donated 154.3 million yuan ($23.7 million) last year.
