Located in the east of Heilongjiang Province, Wanda Mountain is the northern extension of Mount Changbai. The name of the mountain means "ladder" in Manchu. The mountain is mainly composed of three types of rocks: metamorphic rock, granite and sandy shale, which form various landforms with gentle rolls and steep peaks.
Wanda Mountain also features dense forests, crystal-clear lakes, deep valleys and vast wetlands. It is home to more than 70 wild animal species. To escape the hot weather, the mountain makes for the perfect spot to go on a picnic, camp out or hike in summer.
