The New York-centered Atlantic Coast urban agglomeration in the United States., also known as the Boston-Washington Corridor, mainly includes the cities of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and 200 more towns and cities. The belt-shaped area is 1000 kilometers long and 50 to 200 kilometers wide, occupying 1.5 percent of U.S. territory. The population there totals 65 million, accounting for 22.5 percent of the total population of the United States. Its urbanization rate has surpassed 90 percent.
