Beijing is by far the leader in terms of private sector salaries. Employees of private enterprises in the capital enjoyed an average annual salary of 52,902 yuan (US$8,523) last year. Guangdong Province ranked second and Chongqing Municipality came in third, with average annual salaries of 41,295 yuan (US$6,653) and 40,139 yuan (US$6,466) respectively.
Data from 11 regions of China – Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Hubei, Guizhou, Jiangsu, Tianjin, Shandong, Yunnan, Shanghai, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region – have not yet been disclosed.
