Tibet's Tourism Bureau signed 100 letters of intent with travel agencies from other parts of China on receiving tourists at the 2009 China International Tourism Trade Fair held in southwest China's Yunnan Province last week.
During the four-day fair, the Tibetan delegation of 140 members from 30 tourism departments, travel agencies and hotels and scenic areas, distributed 400,000 copies of brochures on promoting tourism in Tibet, and received 30,000 person times of consultancy.

About 25,000 people expressed their intention of visiting Tibet in groups.
As Tibet is now in winter, tourism in the region entered a slack season. To attract more visitors, Tibet's Tourism Bureau also sent a delegation of 30 members to south China's Guangdong Province to attend the Guangdong Tourism Trade Fair held from Nov. 13 to 17.
The bureau signed joint promotion agreement with the Guangdong International Travel Company Ltd. and China Southern Airlines.
Meanwhile, the first tour group jointly hosted by Tibet's Red Mountain Travel Agency, Guangdong International Travel Company Ltd. and China Southern Airlines left for Tibet on Nov. 15. According to the agreement, there will be two such groups each week and the cooperation will last till next March.
