The recent arrival of a 69-member tourist group from southern China's Guangdong Province has marked the beginning of winter tourism in southeastern Tibet's Nyingchi Prefecture.
Tourists to Nyingchi and Tibet's capital of Lhasa will be given bigger discounts on air tickets by the China Eastern Airlines.
Meanwhile, Tibet's travel agencies have well prepared to greet tour groups and individual visitors from the rest of China and abroad.

Lying at an average altitude of 2,900 m above sea level, Nyingchi has the country's second largest forest area and enjoys an agreeable climate around the year, with an average temperature of above 0 degree Centigrade in winter and at 20 degrees Centigrade in summer.
Featuring scenic spots such as the Yarlung Zangbo Canyon, Midui Glaciers, Badong Waterfall and spruce forest in Gangyon, the prefecture is likened to Jiangnan (areas south of the Yangtze River) in Tibet, referring to the home to intoxicating views and fertile land.
