Hainan should build itself into a national card in the global tourism industry, said Wang Zhenghua, chairman of Spring Airlines, China’s first privately-owned budget airlines.
The plan to build Hainan into an international tourist resort marks another milestone in China’s globalization and indicates another ‘spring’ in China’s tourism development, said Wang.
An pressing task in the plan is to develop transportation, according to Wang.
He hopes that the ongoing Boao International Tourism Forum, which is part of Hainan’s efforts to build an international tourism island, will help the formulation of new policies and measures on opening more aviation rights to encourage more domestic and foreign airlines to open flights to Hainan and build an international tourism aviation center in the province.
