The seven storey high building with a glass roof and one underground level, will serve as the information and media centre. It will also be the hub for official ceremonies and gatherings. A space of an unbelievable 142 thousand m2 holds 108 meeting rooms, where the largest one has a capacity of 2,600.
After EXPO ends, it will serve as an international conference centre which will lend its space for various cultural events. Construction is supposed to be finished in November of next year and from January 2010 the centre will operate under a pilot program. The centre is one of the three most ecologically friendly projects in China.
