The newly built Taiwan pavilion would get up to 800,000 visitors during the Shanghai World Expo, an organizer said Tuesday.
The 1,400-square-meters pavilion, finished on March 31, would open on May 1 as scheduled, said one of the organizers Wang Chih-kang, chairperson of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council.
Daily visitor numbers to the venue could reach 4,300, Wang said.
Three movies will be screened at the pavilion on its opening day, showcasing the island's beautiful landscapes and precious cultural relics.
Among 242 Expo pavilions, the Taiwan pavilion is comparatively small.
The pavilion's first volunteers, chosen from more than 2,000 applicants, have finished their training courses and would leave Taiwan for Shanghai on Wednesday for preparation work.
