China has kept a close contact with other participants to the upcoming Shanghai World Expo to ensure security of the global event.
Shanghai police and security authorities have set up hotlines with security officers of all 242 countries, regions and international organizations that are to attend the Expo from May 1 to Oct. 31, a spokesman with the international police liaison center in charge of the Expo security said Wednesday.
The center has also given regular briefings on Expo security work to Expo participants and held bilateral or multi-lateral talks on issues of common concern, the spokesman said.
