More than 191,000 visitors had entered the site of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China by 12pm today, the second day after the Expo's official opening, approaching yesterday's total visitors of 207,700. The local TV station said 390,000 visitors are expected to show up today in the Expo Site.
Temperature in Shanghai reached 29.9 degrees Celsius at 12pm today and daily high temperature will approach 30 degrees for another two days, according to China Meteorological Administration.
Among the entrances to the Expo site, Gate 8 at Houtan saw the longest queue at around 10am with 25,000 people waiting for security check. By 12pm all gates had reported clearance of queues.
An average of 7,600 people was queuing for the Switzerland Pavilion at any time by 6pm yesterday. Other popular pavilions of yesterday included France, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Italy, the UK and South Korea.
