The third theme forum for the Shanghai Expo will be held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province on June 20, an official from the Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau announced at a press conference Wednesday.
Zhu Yonglei, deputy director-general of the bureau, said the goals of the forum, which is themed "science and technology innovation and the urban future, are to review typical examples of science and technology innovations in urban development and to discuss possible solutions for sustainable urban development in the future."

Participants to the forum will include two Nobel laureates, Tsung-Dao Lee and Barry J. Marshall, and the Chinese agricultural scientist known as the father of hybrid rice, Yuan Longping. They will share their perspectives on various topics, including: how innovations in science and technology will make cities more safe, increase urban competitiveness and create a better life in the future.
The one-and-a-half-day forum is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, Executive Committee of the Expo, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Municipal Government of Wuxi.
The theme of the first forum was Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Urban Development. That forum was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on May 15 and 16. The second will take place in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province on June 12, 2010, when cultural heritage and urban regeneration will be discussed.
