The five-day 2017 China Qingdao International Fashion Week concluded in Qingdao, Shandong on Sept 19, with a glamorous closing ceremony at the Qingdao International Sailboat Center, the main venue of the event.
The ceremony issued awards for best new brands, best new designers, and best new models, and awards to recognize great contribution for the development of the industry, and fashion media.
Thai designer Vinn Chokkhatiwat presented the Vinn Patararin brand runway show, and local designers and married couple, Meng Lei and Xie Liwei brought their Bu Cai brand clothes for show to conclude the week.
Altogether, 11 runways were staged at the sailboat center during the fashion week, while Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and 20 domestic designers presented their designs at three sub venues. A total of over 1,000 newest looks were released.
Sideline events included a modern fabric art exhibition, a design seminar, and a Chinese-style clothes show. These events provided a platform for exchange in fashion and art and explored ideas to turn traditional culture into the driver for fashion industry’s upgrading.
One of the sub venues at Hisense Square, a luxury department store under the Hisense Co, saw 160,000 people enjoy the runways, some of whom made purchases on site. Three brand collected 1.3 million yuan in total sales on the day of their product launches.
During the fashion week, eight fashion companies signed agreements to move in the Qilu culture and creativity industrial park.
