This was the executive mayor’s first visit to Qingdao, and he aimed to observe and learn from Qingdao’s experience in construction of the park, matching services and industrial clustering.
The executive mayor remarked that the park is very impressive, an advanced ecopark during the visit which included visits to a passive solar house experience center and Siempelkamp Group’s Qingdao company, one of the first German companies to settle in the park.
He said that the ecopark is a fine example of ecological cooperation between China and Germany and that they could learn from the construction of the park, the environmental protection measures, and the project incubation.
He added that Wuppertal is home to many small and medium-sized enterprises which are small in scale but have gained large market shares in various areas and pledged to help these enterprises to enter the China market including Qingdao.
