The Haier 2017 Qingdao Marathon attracted nearly 20,000 athletes from 20 countries and regions to participate.
Mongolian runner Tseveenravdan Byambajav won men’s title with a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes and 55 seconds. Ethiopian athlete Tadese Bekele Mesere took women’s title with a time of 2h 51m 57s.
Byambajav represented Mongolia in men’s marathon at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The event took place in Qingdao, Shandong on Nov. 5, as the 11th leg of the 2017 Benpao Zhongguo marathon event, containing three categories, full marathon, half marathon and a five-kilometer race.
The full marathon route covered the most stunning coastline of Qingdao, winding along numerous landmarks and scenic spots. It offered the best way to explore Qingdao’s beautiful natural environment.
The event aims to enroll 30,000 athletes in 2018, increasing from this year’s 20,000.
