China's top legislator Wu Bangguo is now in the Cuban capital of Havana for a three-day official visit.
Cuba is the first leg of Wu Bangguo's official American tour. He was greeted by President of the Cuban National Assembly of People's Power, Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada. In a written speech released at the airport, the Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress Standing Committee highlighted the continued growth of Sino-Cuban ties.
Wu Bangguo noted the growing bilateral cooperation is already benefiting both nations. He wants his visit to boost the friendship of the two countries and improve bilateral cooperation.
The top Chinese legislator is scheduled to meet with the first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee, and President of the Council of State of Cuba, Raul Castro. He will also hold talks with Ricardo Alarcon.
Following his trip to Cuba, Wu Bangguo will travel to the Bahamas and the United States.
