The China-ASEAN Expo has become an important platform to promote trade and business between China and the 10 ASEAN countries. At this year's fair, many member-nations occupied entire pavilions to showcase their unique products.
This is Vietnam's exclusive pavilion. It comprises 190 booths, nearly double last year's number. Products cover agricultural, food processing, wood and many others. This sandal maker says it is the 6th time his company has participated in the expo. It have reaped great benefits from previous exhibitions, and has even set up an office in Nanning.
One Vietnamese businessman said "We set up a special negotiation area which mainly targets Chinese mainland businessmen. Every year, businessmen get in touch with us, especially from other provinces of China. We also found some distributors and business agents at the Expo."
Hu Suojin, Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy to Vietnam said "Vietnam is very active in the Expo every year. This year, it has the most participating business people, and the largest exhibition. They hope to promote exports to China."
In Malaysia's exclusive pavilion, this fashion accessory vendor says that last year they took only a few products here to test the water. To their surprise, they not only found a business agent, but also successfully opened a store in Nanjing. This year they registered for the Expo much earlier.
Malaysia Businessman said "After returning from the Expo last year, we started applying for a better, bigger place at this year's Expo. We are very satisfied with the result. The Expo brings us not only the Chinese market, but also the entire ASEAN region."
Many business people at the Expo say the exclusive pavilions provide more convenient access and easier classification, as a result facilitating business negotiations.
