A forum on economic, cultural, and social development in the Tibet Autonomous Region has opened in Rome. The gathering focuses on "Development Prospects and Cooperation Opportunities."
The two-day event has attracted more than 400 participants from Italy, the US, India, and Australia. They will discuss Tibetan research, education, and environmental protection. Paintings by Chinese artists depicting Tibetan scenery and customs will be displayed in Rome and Milan. This is the second exhibition of its kind. The first was held in Vienna in 2007.
