The Ministry of Health confirms a mutation of the A/H1N1 flu virus on the Chinese mainland. They are stressing that the number of cases is limited.
Officials from the the Health Ministry say they discovered the cases several months ago. They claim the cases are not connected, or wide spreading, and will not trigger a pandemic.
Experts say the information they received shows, the virus can be controlled by anti-virus medicines, and can be prevented by the A/H1N1 flu vaccine. There is no evidence the mounting number of fatal cases was caused by this new strain. An investigation into this transformed virus is underway.
